Conchas and champurrado a baking class.

Conchas is the quintessential bread of Mexican panaderias or bread shops. In short when you visit Mexico you haven’t tried it all until you have a concha.

Conchas translate to shell for its shape it is a brioche bread with a marzipan like topping flavored with chocolate or vanilla. In Japan you can find an similar bread Melon pan which some sites note that it was brought to Japan from the Portuguese and they from Mexico. Whether that’s true or not this is a delicious sweet Mexican bread!

Class Details

In this baking class you will learn how to make this brioche sweet bread with no equipment just your hands. You will make the classic chocolate and vanilla plus a Nippon Viajero and really unique recipe pink sakura! Infused with sakura flowers and essence. We are celebrating spring the right way!

Plus need I say learning French baking techniques!

Champurrado is a traditional Mexican chocolate and corn masa drink infused with cinnamon and other spices.

  • Date: Saturday, April 16th, 2022
  • Time: 11:00pm – 13:30pm
  • Location: Plat925 near Tokyo Sky tree. Closest station is Oshiage.
  • Fee: 6,600円 tax included. Includes all recipes, ingredients, and drinks.

  • Each participant will make 3-4 sweet breads.
  • The duration is 2 hours and a half.
  • Please wear masks at all times except when eating and drinking.

Note- Due to the COVID-19 situation we ask that everyone wears a mask. The kitchen will be well ventilated and we will take everyone’s temperature and contact details. If you feel unwell please refrain from attending the workshop. Our staff at Nippon Viajero has been fully vaccinated and boosted!

Cancellations must be done 48 hours in advance for a full credit. You can use this credit towards other workshops. No credit for same-day cancellations. We understand life happens and under extreme circumstances, we are willing to reschedule the workshop depending on the case. Please note that we are a small business that supports other local businesses. When you schedule a workshop we work hard to give back to the community and source the freshest ingredients possible.
