Especially in Mexico\, the purpose is to remember the dead\, give thanks\, and share the joy of life. This tradition is one of the most important in Mexico and is celebrated annually on November 1st and 2nd\, although in some regions the festival begins from October 31st to November 4th. It is similar to Obon in Japan\, but is celebrated in a cheerful and fun way. The motif is not the fear of death\, but rather the mockery of death.\nBread on the Day of the Dead: represents the spirit of hospitality and the bounty of the earth. The shape of the bread also resembles the skulls and bones of the dead. It is sweet\, and there are many different ways to prepare it depending on the region of Mexico. Enjoy with delicious Mexican hot chocolate.\nA piñata is a paper doll filled with sweets\, toys\, etc. that is used at children’s festivals (birthdays\, etc.) in Mexico and other Central and South American countries. \n\n

SUMMARY:Nippon Viajero's Cookbook Recipe Testing Event: Coastal Delights
DESCRIPTION:  \nFounded in 2018\, Nippon Viajero aims to accomplish two objectives: firstly\, to foster a community where individuals can immerse themselves in Latin-American culture\, and secondly\, to provide a guidebook for those residing in Japan who miss authentic Mexican cuisine. \nSince then\, I have dedicated myself to refining\, testing\, and enhancing our soon to be a cookbook recipes\, allowing me to create traditional Mexican dishes using locally sourced Japanese ingredients\, culinary tools\, and most importantly cooking in a Japanese kitchen. \nI wanted to share this beautiful process with you because it is much my community as it is yours. And so I hope you can join me in the last round of recipe testing for some of my favorite summer time dishes. \n  \nIn this experience you will be testing some of our upcoming Cookbooks sea food recipes! \nIn honor of Sea day. We will be cooking up a feast. See the menu below. Unlike our usual culinary workshops this will be a more relax setting with less intruction\, more convivencia. \n( see below for the translation.) \nConvivencia: “coexistence” or “communal living.” It refers to the concept of people coming together\, sharing experiences\, and building a sense of community. In Mexican culture\, convivencia emphasizes the importance of social interactions\, hospitality\, and inclusiveness. It reflects the idea of gathering with family\, friends\, and even strangers to enjoy meals\, celebrations\, and daily life. Convivencia embodies the spirit of unity\, harmony\, and the joy of shared moments in Mexican society. \nNippon Viajero’s Cookbook Recipe Testing Event \n \n
