Nippon Viajero presents authentic Latin American workshops using fresh local ingredients. Vanessa the culinary instructor will show you how to source ingredients, teach you family and modern recipes, and connect you with a diverse community in Japan.

Workshop Details

We offer private party workshops, team building workshops suitable for companies, and private tailored workshops. Workshops are held in person in Tokyo and Hayama.

Our Tokyo location is near Sky Tree at Plat295.

Our Hayama location is at the Moshimo Cafe & event space near Morito Beach. Just a bus ride from Zushi Station. Workshops are 2-3 hours in length, the fee includes ingredients, recipes, and drinks.

We ask participants to wear masks at all time during the event except when eating and drinking. If you feel unwell please refrain from attending.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations must be done 48 hours in advance for a full workshop credit. You can use this credit towards other workshops. No credit for same-day cancellations. We understand life happens and under extreme circumstances, we are willing to reschedule the workshop depending on the case. Please note that we are a small business that supports other local businesses. When you schedule a workshop we work hard to give back to the community and source the freshest ingredients possible.

Baking Class Available March/April

Conchas and champurrado a baking class.

Conchas is the quintessential bread of Mexican bread shops. In short when you visit Mexico you haven’t tried it all until you have a concha. In Japan you can find an similar bread Melon pan.

Tamales Masterclass Available December – February

Nippon Viajero is bringing you our Master Class. Learn how to make tamales in Tokyo! A unique experience to learn ancient culinary techniques and just how easy it is to make tamales at home.

Dia de los Muertos Available October

In Mexico, Día de Muertos is a time to celebrate family members who are no longer with us.

During this time we make Pan de Muerto an orange blossom infused sweet bread, hot chocolate or as we call it chocolate caliente, sugar skulls, ofrendas, altars, and more! In this workshop you will learn how to make traditional Pan de Muerto and Mexican hot chocolate, plus a sugar skull to decorate and take home.
